Beaver Bridges – for building, loading, transporting, splicing and erecting a 52m clear span bridge eventually weighing 70 tonnes over the A1 in one 12-hour shift. Working closely with their friends at Mammoet, rigging and de-rigging the crane, they even had time to check the road surface and re-open the road 2 hours ahead of schedule.

This very tight timeframe meant careful planning and close teamwork were required. Safety was a paramount concern – everybody had to work quickly, whilst under extreme pressure. The task was carried out on time, without incident and on budget – an impressive achievement and an excellent example of a well trained, multi-skilled crew working as a team, liaising and working closely with both the authorities and the crane crews…
