Q: WHAT IS YOUR CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY FOR AWARD ENTRIES?

All material will remain confidential to the Judges. Details of the respective Winners and those Highly Commended will be published in the official ‘Heavies Awards review’ within HeavyTorque, Issue 11 (published mid June 2017).

Q: WHEN DOES THE JUDGING TAKE PLACE?

The judging will take place between the 6th and 17th February 2017.

Q: WHEN WILL THE SHORTLIST BE ANNOUNCED?

Those successfully shortlisted will be notified on the 22nd February 2017.

Q: WHEN IS THE AWARDS NIGHT?

The Heavies 2017 will take place on Friday 24 March 2017 from 18:30pm. Location: Peterborough Arena, The East of England Showground, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE2 6XE.

For satnav purposes, please use PE2 6HE as the postal code.

Q: WHERE IS THE HEAVIES 2017 HELD?

For 2017, The Heavies will be moving to the fantastic Peterborough Arena. Conveniently located just off of the A1 at Peterborough, central to the UK and close to the motorway and rail infrastructure. The site is located just 5 minutes from the A1, allowing easy access for all event sponsors who will be exhibiting their latest and greatest innovation on the evening.

The nearest railway station is Peterborough Station, only 15 minutes away from the site, with most parts of the UK accessible to one of these stations. Kings Cross to Peterborough is only 45 minutes on specific trains.

International Airports at Birmingham, Stansted, Luton or East Midlands are all within easy reach and only approx. 90 minutes from site.

Cash Machines are situated at the rear of the Grandstand, and in the main Exhibition Hall

There are 22,000 free parking spaces – so plenty of room for everyone. They also have plenty of disabled parking bays.

Q: HOW DO I ENTER?

Entries are completely free-of-charge. You may enter as many categories as you like. (a guide on hints and tips can be found here).

Entries may be submitted for more than one category, and will be treated as an individual entry. However, you must supply a signed entry form against each entry.
Entries can be submitted online, via the post or on email – ahead of the closing date: Friday 20th January 2017.

Q: DOES MY PAPER HAVE TO BE SUBMITTED IN MICROSOFT WORD?

Whilst Microsoft Word documents are acceptable, we also welcome submissions in PDF format.Images to be supplied as jpgs (high resolution imagery preferably addressed via WeTransfer/Dropbox)

Q: CAN I ATTACH SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND IF SO, HOW MANY?

There’s no limit to the amount of information you can provide. After all, a winning entry is one that’s carefully and meticulously thought out. Images must be high resolution, or equivalent to 300dpi. If you are considering supplying a large amount of supportive material, may we recommend that you address this via WeTransfer? (www.wetransfer.com)

Q: WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM FILE SIZE FOR MY SUBMISSION?

For the purposes of online entries, we must stipulate a restriction of 10mb per entry.
However, additional information can be supplied via email to: info@theheavies.co.uk

Q: WHAT IS THE PROGRAMME FOR THE EVENING?

  • 18.30 – Champagne reception and networking
  • 19.45 –  Welcome address
  • 20.00 – Three course silver served meal
  • 21.15 – Awards commence
  • 22.15 – Charity auction
  • 22:45 – After show party
  • 01:00 – Carriages

Q: WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE AWARDS?

Black tie or lounge suit. Posh frocks for ladies.

Q: I HAVE BEEN SHORTLISTED FOR AN AWARD, DO I NEED A TICKET?

All attendees must pre-book and pay for their tickets in advance. Table bookings or individual seat reservations are open until Friday 17th March 2017.

Q: HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES A TABLE ACCOMMODATE? AND DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A FULL TABLE?

We can accommodate tables of 10 or 12, though it is not necessary to purchase a full table. Individual seat bookings are also accepted.

Q: HOW CAN I PAY FOR SEATS?

Payments can be made by: cheque, bank transfer or credit/debit cards. (Please note: All card payments will incur a 2.5% handling and administration fee). Should you wish to make a credit or debit card payment, please call a member of the team on +44 (0) 845 1 700 300.

Q: WHO DO I NOTIFY IF ONE OF MY GUESTS HAS SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS OR A DISABILITY?

Prior to the event, joining instructions will be addressed to all attendees (individual seats/table bookings) requesting them to complete the provision of any dietary/special requirements. Simply complete and return the form as instructed. All joining instructions must be returned and received one week prior to the event (Friday 17th March 2017). Thereafter charges may apply, though we cannot guarantee to accommodate specific guest requirements.

Q: CAN I ORDER ADDITIONAL DRINKS FOR MY TABLE?

All tables will be allocated the following package: 5 bottles of wine (a mixture of red/white) plus three bottles of mineral water. Additional drinks will be available from the serviced bar area.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

All cancellations must be received in writing. Should you wish to cancel on or before 13th January 2017 – a full refund will be offered, less an administrative charge of 15%. Should you choose to cancel after 13th January 2016, no refund will be given. (Outstanding Invoices due at that period will also require full payment)

In the event that The Heavies 2017 is cancelled, a full refund will be offered. However, we will not accept liability for travelling, accommodation or any other expenses incurred as a result. These Terms and Conditions are governed by English Law and the Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

The event organiser (Nimble Media Limited) shall not be liable for cancellation or delay of the event due to causes beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, strikes or labor disputes, embargoes, government orders or any other force majeure event.
