The Heavies 2020 and 2022: Postponement Statement (COVID-19)

Following the continued escalation of the Coronavirus outbreak across Europe, The Heavies (2020 and 2022) has taken the difficult decision to once again reschedule the event to the later date of Friday 14 October 2022.

The organiser, Nimble Publishing Ltd, publishers of the UK’s leading specialist transport title, HeavyTorque, has once again been closely monitoring updates on the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Like many event organisers, the health and safety of our guests has to be our number one priority and this is particularly pertinent for the UK’s abnormal lift and transport industry who are essential to the nation’s critical infrastructure. In addition, given the restrictions on international travel, it’s fair to suggest that several sponsors could struggle with travel plans, and much more. Moreover, we cannot host an event without our international partners! It is with this in mind that the decision has been made to postpone the event, yet again. While this is not a decision that has been taken lightly, we do feel that it is the right one – not just for our specialist sector – but for industry and community as a whole.

We do believe that the new date will enable sufficient time for the situation to improve, and for the event to run successfully for all involved.
